Indianapolis is so fortunate to have the opportunity to host the annual Fire Department Instructors Conference each year… We have over 30,000 firefighters from across the world who come to participate in all sorts of training opportunities–Engine Company classes, Truck Company, RIT, How to Manage a Combination Paid/Volunteer Department, Forcible Entry, etc. There are classes all week–both inside the classroom and out in the community for hands-on training. Atlanta-area visit

My wife and I had a great time visiting some of the firefighters and police officers down in Georgia this weekend. If you ever have a chance to visit the Engine 11 Ladder 29 firehouse in downtown Atlanta, it’s really a neat place. You can see it from I-75 as you enter downtown from the north. We hope some of the FF’s who have side-jobs will sign up for an ad while it’s free (and so they are entered to win the free iPad)!! I’m sure there are plenty of folks in Atlanta who would love to hire a police officer or firefighter instead of some random contractor from the yellow pages or a google search! Consider this the “first” of many blog posts which will highlight the world of public safety. I’ve been a firefighter for almost 10 years now and I love every minute I get to spend working with my brothers and sisters at the firehouse and helping the community we protect each day.

Our website is really starting to take shape… What an exciting adventure it’s been over the last 6 months! I can’t believe how far its come in such a short amount of time. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, please do. And stay as long as you’d like!

We are offering several different promotions right now to allow our public safety personnel a chance to give the website a try–for free. I am so thankful that we’ve had so many folks who have forwarded our information to their friends and colleagues who might benefit from advertising on our site. The website is built around trust–the fact that we trust each other and the citizens we protect trust us, too. If we can get a good group of police officers and firefighters to advertise on the website, we will be able to create a single website where we can search for and hire people we already trust with our lives.
